Security and verification
Exchanging money is a financial transaction, and some requests are reviewed. This page sets out what is worth knowing in advance: when a check may happen, what may be asked for, and why the depth of a check differs from one request to another.
Updated:
In short
- Not every request needs a check.
- How far a check goes depends on the transaction and the circumstances, not on one number.
- What may be asked for is listed below — no surprises at the end.
- We do not offer exchanges “without checks”, and we do not offer anonymity.
KYC — checking who the customer is
KYC (Know Your Customer) means confirming that the person creating a request is who they say they are, and that the account or wallet involved is theirs.
A check may be needed when there is reason to confirm identity or the source of funds: when the details of a request do not agree with each other, when the transaction looks different from the ordinary, or when the rules of a payment system or a partner handling the payout call for it.
- A screenshot from the payment-system account — to confirm the account is yours.
- A question about where your funds came from.
- A selfie, in rare cases.
- Other confirmations, if the review calls for them.
This is a list of what may be asked, not a checklist applied to every request. What is actually needed depends on the transaction, and an operator will say.
Why the check exists
It protects both sides. It reduces the risk that someone other than the account holder is moving the money, and it lowers the chance of a payout reaching the wrong person — the one mistake that cannot be undone once a transfer has gone out.
The other side is what partners and payment systems require of the funds passing through them. The service does not operate in a vacuum: where a partner requires confirmation, we need it too.
KYB — checking a business
We do work with companies. Where a request is made on behalf of one, relates to business activity, or the account involved is registered to a legal entity, the check covers the business as well as the person. This is known as KYB (Know Your Business).
Information about the company and about the people who run or own it may be needed. Exactly what depends on the country of registration, the nature of the business and what a partner requires, so there is no single list here.
- The company name, its country of registration, and confirmation that it exists.
- Who represents the company in this transaction, and on what basis.
- Information about owners or ultimate beneficial owners.
- An explanation of the business activity and the source of funds, where relevant.
For business requests it is better to write to a manager first: that way the scope of the check is known before a request is created.
AML and transaction review
AML (Anti-Money Laundering) is the general name for the rules against money laundering. In practice it means a transaction may be looked at on its own rather than simply processed.
If a transaction appears suspicious or falls into a higher-risk category, we may ask for further information. Where that information cannot be provided, or where an explanation does not resolve the question, we may decline to proceed — either entirely or for a particular direction.
A refusal is not an accusation. It means a check we are required to complete could not be completed.
What we do not promise
We do not offer exchanges “without KYC”, we do not promise anonymity, and we do not guarantee that no check will take place. A service that promises those things either performs no checks or is not telling the truth about them, and in both cases the risk lands on the customer.
What this looks like in practice
- You see the calculation before a request is created — the terms do not appear afterwards.
- Once the calculation is confirmed, the request gets a number it can be found by.
- The exchange then continues on Telegram, which is where any confirmation is discussed.
- If a check is needed, an operator says so before money moves, not after.
